Can i just hook up the optical audio out on my Tv to the optical in on my AV amp instead of hooking up all AV?
I am trying to hook up a yamaha V730 AV amp , LG pk-750 Tv and Energy micro 5.1 speakers. Can i hook up the audio opitcal out from the TV to the audio optical in on the amp and it sound good . Or do I have to run all of the audio and video conection through the amp then to the Tv THANKS in Advance
It is usually better to run components directly to the amp instead of through the TV , some TV's will pass along the audio some will not but even if it does there is some degradation, as the TV's audio electronics are usually not as sophisticated as a receivers are...you would want to do this especially for a Blu ray player as blu ray has true HD and other formats that the TV is not capable of passing on...
