Which new PC game has the highest demands for processor, video card, and performance?
I'm buying a new PC and I want to make sure that I can play anything I throw at it. I don't need the specs, just the game title. What is the most demanding game you've ever seen on the PC?
I have no idea of it's or others' ranking in "CPU usage" relative to other games--primarily because I don't keep up with the gaming industry anymore--but, apparently, when Diablo III is released, it's probably going to require something like this:
Operating System: Windows Vista (DX10)
Processor: 2.4GHz or higher CPU.
RAM: 1Gb or more.
Video: PCI-E ATI or NVIDIA video with Shader Version 3.0 Support
Hard Drive Space: 4-8GB
DirectX 10.
I just found that on a gaming site a moment ago and it really seems like a bit much. So, I am not sure how trustworthy it is because I initially heard 1.5GHz processor would knock it out. I've seen a few screenshots from it and it will surely tax a system heavily, though. Anyway, to be safe, I'd find something in the 2.0-2.5 GHz range, if not 3.0. That way you can stay ahead of the curve for some time. My system is 1.3 and I plan to try Diablo on it anyway, because it has an Intel chip and they're pretty tough.
OH! Also, I strongly recommend you BUY INTEL!! The price of an AMD is surely tempting, but Intel stuff is reliable and solid. As with anything, paying extra means you get better quality. If you cheap out, don't be surprised if it kicks the bucket and you've gotta shell out money for repairs and/or replacement parts....
