how do you hook up a preamp to a receiver?
I have a Pioneer SX 1050 and a Carver holographic preamp. I would like to take advantage of the sonic holography by Carver. How do I hook it up?
The problem with what you want to do is a "receiver" is a preamp and amp and a tuner all in one box. You want to hook up a preamp up to something that already has a preamp in use, it will sound like crap. The preamp is designed to amplify signals enough so that regular amps can boost that signal enough to have it sound fine. The best solution is to get a amp to drive your speakers. For example you would hook a turntable up to a preamp the preamp hooks into the amp the amp hooks into the speakers.
