i have a 96 yamaha waveraider 1100 i swamped it and now it wont start its getting spark but only backfires?

so its getting spark i changed the gas and drained all the water out of it it onlybackfires an the yamaha dealer told me that its probably the fuel timing plate or called something like that im by no means a expert on 2 strokes and i understand that it prolly blew the rear main seal out which pressurizes the fuel pump but i also tried pouring gas down the carbs and it only did the same thing its getting good spark too

it sounds like the reeds probably broke, when you try to start it it will blow gas out of the carbs. if the rear seal is bad you will be able to see it by removing the drive shaft cover. the only way to check the reeds is remove the carbs. it may still have water in the engine, it has taken me a couple hours at times to pickle one of these when a cust. sinks it. try starting it with one plug out, but be sure to ground the wire just close the gap on an extra plug and insert it in the wire. if you do find it needs reeds, be sure not to re-use the gaskets. you can me if you have any more quest.
